Rachael was soaked but she didn't care.  She had just had another fight with her boyfriend and the rain hid her tears.  They had been fighting a lot lately.  It hadn't always been like this, when they had first started dating she could do no wrong.  Troy was so sweet, buying her flowers and complementing her every chance he got.  Now the complements have turned into insults and the flowers into hits.  She knew it was wrong and that she should break up with him but she was scared of what he would do if she tried.
Rachael was glad for the pouring rain because everyone was staying inside and there was no one to see how ugly she looked.  At least that is what she thought, until she saw someone walking towards her with an umbrella.
The chances of the person actually knowing Rachael were slim but she didn't want to take any chances, so she decided to turn into the park up ahead.  That was what she was planning to do anyway until "Rachael?" She knew that voice.  It belonged to the last person, next to Troy, who she wanted to see at that moment.
"Rachael what are you doing out here?"
"I don't want to talk about it Jason." She said as she walked passed him.
"Rachael wait!" Jason put his hand on her shoulder to stop her.  Rachael flinched at the touch, she had forgotten that it was not Troy talking to her and Jason was not going to hit her.
"Rachael?" Jason had been her best friend since ether of them could remember, and ever since Rachael started dating Troy they had been seeing less and less of each other.  Rachael had lead Jason to believe that this was because she enjoyed spending time with Troy, and that was how it started out.  Now though it was because Troy was a very jealous and controlling person and he didn't want Rachael looking at another guy let alone hanging out with one.
"Leave me alone!" Rachael shouted as she took off running.  She knew he could catch up with her but she was hoping he would take a hint.  Then again he was never one to let things go she thought as his feet slapped against the wet sidewalk behind her.
"Rachael wait!" Jason said just before he wrapped one arm, and the closed umbrella, around her waist to stop her from running.
"Let go of me!" Rachael tried to break out of Jason's hold but he was much stronger then her and she had spent the last of her strength in trying to out run him.  Crying always took a lot out of her.
"Not until you tell me what's wrong."
"Nothing's wrong."
"Don't lie to me.  You're walking home in the rain, crying.  There's something wrong."
She hated how he knew her so well.  "Troy and I just had another fight it's no big deal."
"You've been doing that a lot lately.  What was this one about?"
"It was stupid.  I don't want to talk about it." They had actually been fighting about Jason.  Troy didn't want Rachael hanging out with him anymore, but she didn't want to tell Jason that.
"You don't cry over stupid things Rae.  What was the fight really about?"  Damn that boy. Rather than answer him she started crying all over again.  Jason pulled Rachael into a hug and she buried her face in his chest.  Rachael heard the pop of the umbrella opening as he raised it over their already soaked heads.
I haven't uploaded anything in a while so I thought I would. This is something I did between classes because I didn't feel like doing homework.

As usual I'd love some feed back.

Also I do have an idea as to how this would continue so if you'd like to see another part let me know in the comments.
